Having a phone number just for your business will not only look very professional but will also protect your privacy. A separate phone number will significantly help with business inquiries, preventing any confusion whether a call is going to be personal or business-oriented. Also, this will help create a healthy work balance life as you can easily just ignore calls from your business number after they reach a certain time of day.

Install A Business Alarm

It's also important for you to think about getting a business alarm system put in. If you want to ensure that your premises and any business locations that you have are secure, alarms can help. Not only will this alert you if something is wrong, but you'll also find that it can sometimes act as a deterrent anyway.

Get A Security Camera

Something such as CCTV and/or a security system could help a lot. Both a home and a business location or do well by having these. If you’re keeping your stock at home, having a security camera can help protect you, your stock, and your home. Security cameras are excellent for protecting both residential and commercial properties. Something such as a security operations centre can massively help as well with protecting your business. There are plenty that you can install yourself or even hire a professional to do. The same goes for a security system, these are very helpful and can keep your home and business protected.

Mail Forwarding

If you’re selling a physical product rather than a service, you know there will be a chance that items will be returned. Even for invoices, there will need to be an address. There are plenty of mail forwarding services, one of the easiest would be having a PO box. This protects your home address and you can still get mail.

Rent A Business Address

If you’re working from home and don’t have your location for your business, then this could be very helpful. Depending on your location, all businesses will need to be registered and the information will need to be accessible to the public. If you’re working from home, it’s understandable that you don’t want someone to know your address, as that’s where you live. There is the option of renting an area and using that as a registered address.

You’ll just need to research whether or not that’s an option. But you can also look at whether it’s a requirement for your area to have the address publicly accessible since it’s your home address after all.  It’s so important to put yourself first over your business and keep yourself safe. Having a random person knowing your address could potentially put you and your family in harm's way.

These are just a few of the many different tips that can help protect yourself, your business, and your privacy when you’re working for your small business. It’s important to run your business in the comfort of your own home, so these tips should help out.
