Your bedroom is one of the most relaxing rooms in your home, or at least it should be, which is why it is the perfect place to practice self-care.
With that in mind here are some changes you may want to make to your bedroom to make it more conducive to rest, relaxation, and high-quality self-care…
Get Rid Of The Clutter

It’s tempting to fill your bedroom with lots of clothes, books, records, whatever you have that is overspilling from other rooms, but actually, you should leave your bedroom as the one space in your home that is as clutter-free as possible. Why? Because cluttered rooms lead to cluttered minds.
It can be impossible to relax when you have a pile of clothes or an overspilling dressing table covered in makeup starting back at you, so keep it simple and only keep the things you need or enjoy in the bedroom, cram everything else in somewhere else or donate it to people in need.
Invest In An Amazing Bed
Self-care is all about looking after yourself and being as comfortable and relaxed as possible, which means you might want to hit up the quality bed shops for a bed befitting a self-care queen.
You need a mattress that supports you and makes you feel like you’re lying on air. Find it and everything from reading to drinking chamomile tea in bed will become even more pleasurable.
Invest In Amazing Sheets
Of course, the bed is only part of the equation – you’re going to want to upgrade your bedding too, From soft, plump pillows that support your neck to perfection to Egyptian cotton sheets that allow your skin to breathe, anything you can do to up your comfort levels in the bedroom is an investment worth making.
Fresh Flowers Always
I’m a big fan of fresh flowers in the bedroom. Not only are they a well-deserved treat that is great to look at, but they fill the room with wonderful fragrances that can enhance your wellbeing with every breath.
Supermarket flowers are fine – you don’t need to spend a lot of money, just having something beautiful and alive in the room with you will help you up your self-care game.
Scented Candles For Mood
Scented candles are great at creating a relaxing mood, not only via the diffused light which is easy on the eye but also because, if you choose the right scents, they will work on your body and mind, Lacencder-based candles, for example, are very relaxing, while citrus scents are great at boosting low mood.
Ban The Tech
If you’re in the bedroom, you should be banning the tech or keeping it to a minimum if you want to boost your wellbeing. Kindles that mimic paper may be fine, or using your phone to play soothing music may be acceptable.
But you certainly shouldn’t have a TV in there, nor should you spend all your time scrolling social media, sit back, relax and enjoy the calming environment you’ve created.
