A few months ago I finally signed up to Netflix, I know, I’m late to the party! I was resistant because I wasn’t sure how much I would watch it but I have to say I have watched a lot of shows so far! Perhaps because it’s new to me but also because there are some fantastic shows on there to watch. However, with the rising cost of streaming services, it can get to be quite a large monthly expense, so you may want to click here to see a selection of ways to watch TV for free! Today I thought I’d share with you what I’ve watched to give you some inspiration for your next Netflix binge!

I won’t give anything away with regards to the plot for these. I’ll keep my descriptions brief so you can watch them for yourself!

The Sinner

This drama with Jessica Biel is gripping. Rather than a who done it, it’s more of why did they do it. It’s very clever, tense with plenty of twists and turns!

The Crown

When I asked on Instagram for any recommendations, The Crown was the unanimous response! There are 4 seasons so far all based on the royal family. It begins with the reign of King George and tells the story of our current Queen, Elizabeth. It’s wonderful!

Mindhunter

This is one if, like me, you love crime shows. Mindhunter follows the early days of the FBI and criminal profiling. Two agents visit killers in prison to see if they have any traits that can be used to create a profile that can be used to try to prevent murders from happening in the future. I'm so sad this only got 2 seasons.

Manhunt: Unabomber

This has similarities to Mindhunter in that it is about the FBI and serial killers. The difference is this is about them tracking one man, The Unabomber. It’s not only about the FBI trying to find this man but it also explores the reasons he had for doing what he did.

The Defiant Ones

This is a documentary about Dr Dre and music producer/mogul Jimmy Iovine. I found it fascinating to watch. It shares the rise of these two music men, the history of music and how they ultimately came to work together. There are lots of other celebrities interviewed and if you like some of the music there’s also a great playlist on Spotify!

Godless

I wasn’t sure about this one but as it got 5 stars on a site I trust, I thought I’d give it a watch. Godless is set in 1880’s America and based in a town where almost all of those who live there are women. A notorious outlaw is on the loose looking for revenge after being wronged by a former friend, its gripping stuff! It’s only one season and there is some great acting plus a few twists and turns you’re not expecting.

The Alienist

I am almost finished with The Alienist. So far, this has been really enjoyable which is why I’m including it. It’s about an Alienist, who is essentially an early-day psychiatrist. Based in New York in the late 19th century the Alienist is trying to help stop a serial killer.

If you’re looking for a Netflix show to watch, then I’d highly recommend checking out these. Snuggle down on the sofa and enjoy! And on another note, bring on season 2 of Bridgerton!
