It doesn’t take rocket science to understand why individuals might want to avoid working around hazardous substances. Radioactive materials, toxic substances, and hazmat suits might look exhilarating on TV but it’s a whole different ballgame in real life.

Spending long periods sitting down while driving up and down the country in all kinds of hazardous weather conditions can take its toll. That’s why truck drivers aren’t the easiest roles to fill. It’s a shame as the payoff is far greater than you’d anticipate. Someone needs to deliver our Amazon parcels, right?

Smallholder farmers and environmentalists are going crazy for human urine as an organic fertilizer. It’s a high-risk job but it pays a crazy amount of dollars if you’re willing to do it. The story of Piper Alpha is sufficient to put people off taking the plunge. It’s perfectly understandable why it takes a certain type of individual to consider long periods away from home in a dangerous job.

If you watch crime shows, you might think it sounds like an exciting job. Think again. We’re not referring to the forensic investigation or the exciting detective part, this is simply the aftermath that requires nothing more than a maid service. Why clean up such a desperate mess when you can stick to cleaning pretty homes? That’s why it pays so well.

Every time you buy a beautiful-smelling product, someone has had to sniff the scent for hours on end, ensuring that it smells great and lasts for a certain amount of time. The hourly rate is excellent, but the headaches are less so.

If you don’t mind early mornings and can get past smelling like a waste bin, this might be the job for you. Garbage collectors can earn handsomely due to the unpleasant nature of the job but it’s no shocker that people aren’t forming lines out of the job center.

We all love our furry best friends, and we’d do anything for them, but eat their food? We’d rather not. The only way to test pet food is for a human to sample it, and those who take the role get paid a decent salary for it. We’ll let the dogs eat the kibble, thanks.
