Thinking of Going on a Trip? Check Out Seattle, Washington!

It's almost the start of Summer and where else might you want to visit but Seattle Washington! We've got some general information and pictures of the area, as well as some tips from the locals on what to do and where to go during your stay in Seattle.

Seattle, Washington is located in the Northwest corner of the United States. It is located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. The main highway going through it is Highway 5. Seattle's official nickname is "The Emerald City" and we couldn't agree more. The photos that we've seen of it at night are absolutely stunning, and the space needle makes it one of the most recognizable skylines on earth. And with a population of over 500,000 this city is bound to give you great night life.

As far as the locals go, they are known as Seattleites and are probably some of the nicest people around. They warn that the space needle is overrated. It is expensive and the food isn't the best around. Woodland Park Zoo is worth a look, so is Lake Washington. Mount Raineer is gorgeous, and a ride around on the San Juan Islands via ferry is sure to leave your jaw dropped in awe of the stunningly beautiful landscape. If interesting is the adjective you are looking for to describe a venture in Seattle, check out Ballard Locks. As far as shopping goes you should definitely check out the Pike Street Market, and the farmers market downtown has an enourmous amount of fresh food! And the waterfront restaurants boast some of the best food & dining around, such as: Ivar's and any of the Smorges Boards.

Don't forget your raincoat or an umbrella. But preferrably something that will cover your whole body is best.

Armed with this information a trip to Seattle should be a blast! What are you waiting for?

  Quick Travel Tip

Always, always, always bring sunscreen! Even if you are going to a colder climate, or the weather is overcast, remember to pack and wear sunscreen to protect your skin from becoming burned. Your skin is always prone to sun-burn, even if you don't think so. The best sunblock we've found is Bull Frogs SuperBlock. It's SPF 45, waterproof, sweatproof, and contains titanium dioxide.
